Commissions: What my Prices & Requirements are
This page is designed for those considering to hire me.
I'll suggest this to my clients to view over as it answers many questions.
Hi I'm Courtney, for more information and my contacts visit the About Me section.

I'm a freelancer with little experience since I've been a full time University student and would only get offers from close contacts. But I'm currently looking for work.
Deposit-
Before starting the job I'll need a deposit, incase the job gets cancelled mid way I'll still need a payment for the time I've spent on it so far. This can be discussed and calculated with me. I'm just trying to avoid being ghosted on a job.
My rate is $25 an hour
Price-
If you already had a price in mind this can be negotiated. I understand some clients rather pay for the product instead of paying for the production time. This can be discussed, but if this is the case keep in mind that if the product takes longer then expected or if I'm asked to redo more sketches/final copies then I may warn you that it'll cost extra before continuing.
Due Date-
A due date needs to be organised. In the past, working with clients who didn't have a due date were more likely to lose interest in the job or caused me to take the production slower. Having a due date will allow me to plan if I can get the job done and motivate me to complete it.
Submission-
We must discuss before I begin how the work will be submitted. Am I sending it by email? Do you have a preferred file size? (A4 etc.) The file type? (I use Photoshop so I can save it as a PSD, JPEG, PNG, PDF).
Feedback-
While I'm working on the product I'll send steps of my process to get feedback. This is crucial as I won't continue the work until I hear back from you. I'll be expecting to hear anything that needs changing or permission to keep going.
Process-
Keep in mind I communicate a lot during the production, especially the drafting stage. I have to understand what you're requesting, and allow you to give me feedback every step so I'm not wasting my time completing something undesired and not wasting your money through prolonged production time. It's easier for me to fix something during the draft stage after getting critiques. Critiques can still be made when I've produced something finalase but take note that it's harder to fix at that stage and will cost you more by adding more time to the production. Completely restarting a product doesn't erase the time I've already spent, so the unused product's time will still be added into the cost.
My process looks a little like this:
-We communicate about the job and agree to start after the front payment.
-I'll hunt down references to make sure I understand the job.
-I'll start with some very basic sketches & get feedback.
-I'll keep sketching until you're happy.
-I'll begin the final version & get feedback.
-I won't stop until confirmation that it's done.
-We communicate the submission and final payment.
-I'll create an invoice to send over for my payment or a Paypal link.
Please understand during the drafting stage that the art will look messy because it's a sketch. I can't believe how many clients don't understand that the first draft is a rough draft. At the start I'm asking feedback for the overall idea, not the quality, since it'll just be a sketch to begin with.

Character Commissions
Everything above was requirements for a freelance job, but I can also do casual Character Commissions too. This option won't always be open but I'm happy to add requests to a queue and get back when I'm available. Please take note this is a smaller job just for fun, the prices are cheaper since I expect work such as drawing people's OC's, portraits or fanart. Anything that ties into a business such as posters or logos, even if characters included, is considered a freelance job.
